I love supporting local businesses and have started intentionally purchasing Canadian brands as much as possible. I wanted to share some of my favourites and encourage you to shop locally, as well. As we move into 2022, I want to continue to be more of a conscious shopper and buy high-quality items that will last me a long time.
Here are some of my favourite Canadian businesses right now:
Toques From The Heart was founded in 2019 by three friends from Hamilton, Ontario. With every toque purchased, this amazing company donates one to someone in need. Besides being stylish and warm, you’ll feel good about where you spent your money.
This brand is inspired by a love of basics and features classics with a twist. I was lucky enough to snag a pair of the Casual Joggers and the Oversized Half-Zip sweater (above) — I’m obsessed. They both fit so well and are some of the coziest items I own.
This crewneck is super thick and the perfect fit. I’ve had it for almost a year now and it continues to be one of my go-to sweaters. It’s perfect for those early mornings and chilly evenings by the lake or on a hike.
Two Paddles Clothing
This half-zip is super flattering and the fit is perfectly oversized without being too big. If you want to see more pictures of me in it, check out photos from my Perth trip on Instagram. They have tons of different styles and colours, all representing Canada.
The PETA-certified company creates high-quality outerwear that is sustainable, ethically produced, and also, affordable. I really love their puffer jackets!
This company makes me feel like a kid in a candy shop. They have absolutely everything you want or need for being outdoors, from fishing gear to snowshoes. SAIL only works with high-quality brands like ARC’TERYX, The North Face, Nike, etc. They have so many different options for fashionable outdoor wear too (like my fleece above, the Campshire Women’s Jacket which keeps me so warm on my walks with Dakota).
If you’re looking for a cute gift for someone in your life or yourself, this company has tons of unique souvenirs. Shop items like all-dressed chip ornaments, poutine candles, curling mugs, and lots of other things.
If your skin gets really dry from the cold dry weather, like me, this stuff works wonders! They are all fragrance-free and long lasting, which makes them perfect for wintertime.
This luxury health and beauty brand only uses high-quality ingredients and is handmade in Montreal. If you want to step up your bath time routine, you absolutely need to try their bath and skincare products. Also, their bath kits are pretty unique and will make you feel like you’re at a spa! I recommend the Blomst Ritual Shower Gel and the Lueur Boréale candle (which smells like forest).
With a citrusy after taste, Rally beer is super light and easy to drink. It also helps that it’s low calorie and makes you feel less bloated. I’m pretty picky, and I find it to be such an easy and refreshing beer to drink.
Their granola is truly amazing and I’m obsessed with it. It’s made weekly and in small batches, so you know it’s good. My personal favourite is No. 3! They just added a new one which apparently tastes just like gingerbread. I am going to need to try it ASAP.
If you’re looking for fresh produce straight from the farm, delivered to your home, this is exactly the website you need to check out. They collaborate with some of the best vendors in Ontario to bring incredible meats, vegetables, desserts, pet food, prepared foods, plant-based products, along with so much more. It’s worth every penny – I promise. I highly recommend the fresh ramen noodles! Also, the carrot cake was delicious. Some of the best prepared meals I’ve tried so far, were the Cacio e Pepe Flatbread, Chicken Parmesan, Scalloped Potatoes, and the mac and cheese. I’ve loved all of them.
